About Us

The story of Curran Company is one that encompasses nearly 70 years of honesty, integrity, and hard work. Our company was established in 1940, when a man named George Curran started his business with one humble product: mung beansprouts. George grew and sold the sprouts to local restaurants throughout Southern Maine. In 1969, Roland Roberge bought the business and moved the facility to his home basement. Curran Company was now truly a family owned and operated business: Roland, with help from his wife and five children, was up at 4:00 each morning, working seven days each week, to grow the business and establish the company’s reputation of superior customer service.

Curran Company has undergone many changes since those humble beginnings; however that mission of honesty, integrity, and hard work has proven to stand the test of time. Under the guidance of Roland’s sons Bert, Larry, Marcel, and, now a new generation, grandsons Nick and Greg, our company now specializes in a vast array of processed vegetables and vegetable blends. Today, Curran Company complies with the highest industry standards of quality at its state-of-the-art facility in Saco, Maine. We maintain our focus on honesty, integrity, and hard work by striving to form solid and lasting partnerships, primarily with foodservice distributors and retail chains. Curran Company intends to sustain our business far into the future by continually identifying and adapting to ever-changing consumer needs in both foodservice and retail.
